Coding Dojo

Tomorrow I begin a new journey as a coder and developer in the world fo technology. In my last post as a senior compliance education analyst I saw the correlation to technology while working with developers firsthand to create learning content for those who work for the firm. Annual training as we call it. It will require one to learn new things about the self and learning. A task that I'm eager to get immersed in. Learning JavaScript has been a challenge. At first I thought it was the terminology but then it was just the algorithms. Well for me it was how to put it all together along with getting it to run int the text editor. It was very frustrating to not be able to do a thing well. I liken the experience to learning to play golf. You have to unlearn a lot things have been learned over the years. Like less is more. One doesn't have to swing hard to hit the ball farthest; however one must have a smooth fluid swing to hit ball period and the club will do the rest of the work. Yes, it took me years to figure this out especially when you have played baseball and learned about power in hitting comes from the core and legs. I hope my acquired grown-up experience(AGE) will avail itself in developing me into a great coder and problem solver!
